Greetings! I’m Jane Melin, a violin teacher in Washington State, and I love sharing my favorite teaching resources, ideas, organizational tips and finds with others. I hope you’ll enjoy coming along as we all strive to enhance our teaching skills!
Back in 2005 I developed some violin lesson materials for a very young student that used color-coded notes, strings and staff to teach music reading. Encouraged by her mother, I started selling my materials to other teachers on a website called GDAEmusic.com, and it’s been going strong ever since. I will occasionally highlight some of those products on this blog, and talk about how I use them with my students.
When I provide product reviews of items that I have personally used, I may link to the product for sale on an affiliate site like Amazon or Sheet Music Plus. You do not need to follow my link to purchase the product, but if you do it will earn me a few pennies to help me maintain this site.
I am also building a YouTube channel to share how-to videos. I already have two popular videos posted there, reviewing intermediate-level violins and bows. It will take me some time to add new content but I am excited to get started with this project.
Thanks for visiting! Please leave a comment about reviews and how-to’s you would be interested to read and I’ll do my best to provide them.
